Its a law related question kindly assist on how best i can advise ronaldo
Ronaldo bought a second-hand-car from The Car Garage plc after seeing their advertisement which described the car as “a fabulous two-year-old car: driven 50,000 km only; the engine has recently been serviced; the brakes fully tested; and in original colour of sky blue”.
A week after Ronaldo bought the car it would not start; there was an oily patch on the floor and the brakes had seized up. A couple of days later he met Lily, the previous owner, and she told him that the car was five years old, had been driven over 150,000 km and the original colour was olive green. Ronaldo reported all these points to The Car Garage and their response was ‘it is now your car and nothing to do with us – caveat emptor!’.

I don't think law can do anything here! As they said all this lies verbally and there is no written communications. So even if Ronaldo filed a suit, the garage's management can argue that they had told you that car is 5 years old and has driven 150,000km. You cannot prove them wrong!

Only advice you can give him is that, next time get a written confirmation like a mail.

But, the car registration book should have had the exact details of the age of the car right? In India people buy cars with registration docs only, so you can be sure how old the car is atleast.
