Is there a ship service available to Andaman?

Is there a service availability for traveling to Andaman through Ship?
The website of the Andaman Tourism is not up to date and I would appreciate if someone can help me on getting that information.

If you want to go to Andaman, i wish to inform you that there are some passenger ship services are available to Port Blair from Chennai, Calcutta and Vishakhapatnam and back. But its only three/four times in a month. The voyage will take about 50 to 60 hours to reach there. For your information, no need to take a permit for Indian nationals to visit Andamans. But it is required to visit Nicobar Islands and other tribal areas.

BY SEA:

Regular passenger ship services are available to Port Blair from Chennai, Kolkatta (Calcutta) and Visakhapatnam and back. There are three to four sailing's every month from Calcutta and Chennai to Port Blair and vice-versa. There is a sailing from Visakhapatnam once in a month. The voyage takes about three days and the ship normally berth at Port Blair for about two days.

The ship is operated by:
Shipping Corporation of India Ltd., Aberdeen Bazaar, Port Blair - 744 101.
Further information on schedules and tariffs can be obtained from : Shipping Corporation of India, at
Kolkatta (Calcutta).

Hi Dharani,

Even i dont have idea about that here is an idea that you do to any good web travel portal and ask them directly and i am sure being a travel portal they will be having knowledge about that and also I've found a really nice Andaman trip package from Yatra.com coz last year i visited Goa and contacted this web travel portal and they managed my trip very well. please check out this link:- http://www.yatra.com/holiday-packages/booking/andaman ... hope i was able to help you.
