I recently came across some blogs telling castor oil is very good for hair and it helps in reducing hair loss. Has anyone tried this? What are the other benefits of using castor oil?

The oil has long been used to alleviate and treat a number of diseases including:
Lymph problems; When applied externally, the oil is naturally absorbed by the skin speeding up the healing of swollen lymph nodes. A castor oil pack may also be used for the treatment of lymph problems.
Constipation; An effective and organic laxative, the oil will almost always help in treating constipation. It will also help in cleaning and relieving the swelling of the bowels. Mix a small amount with orange juice or lemonade to remove the unpleasant taste.
Arthritis; In the treatment of arthritis, the oil can be taken orally or applied externally. A combination of both, together with a healthy alkaline diet, will provide faster results.
