Do you really need to put your kids in expensive schools?

There is so much competition these days to put your kids in the so called "best" schools. Parents are ready to give any amount of donations to achieve this purpose. But do you think that expensive schools are really an important means to give your child the basic skills and knowledge required to prepare her/ him for the future?
