Seriously..There is not one movie that can come to my mind that can match this one. It was an epic, the storyline is simply subline, the ending is vintage Bollywood. It really is the best movie I have ever seen, it has it all, it's an entertainment package you'll never forget. It's simply mindblowing, I'm just bankrupt for words, this movie can not be given justice by describing it by words. You feel part of this movie, it's like a link that no other movie has ever created, it's simple amazing..The movie has it all - The best soundtrack you can get, the best actors, the best director and the best storyline..

Really, if you haven't watch this movie you must give it a watch. 99% of people who watch this will love it, but 1% will hate it hard, so bear in mind that it might not be for everyone.

This was by far the best movie I have ever watched..

the movie was worth watching not only because of the wonderful score by a r rehman but also because of nice screen adaptation, acting, direction etc.moreover this movie has tried to shed some light on the mumbai slums which have never been depicted in this manner ever before.

I don't think, slumdog is a superb movie! There has been lot of similar movies like this, so no variety factor in that, then it went to oscars, just because, it was directed by a a westerner! Also, there are few flaws in the movie too....like the slum boys speaking fluently in English and all....dats not realistic for God's sake...
Best thing, i liked about it, is the fact that, it provided platform for AR Rahman, to fetch Oscars, which he was long deserving...
This Oscars, missed movies like "A revolutionary road" which were quite standard movies......

1. This movie made a fake impression to the world that 'india is full of slums!' and 'india is a dirty place'. Truth is there are only very less such area present in India

2. Music is Ok. I am a fan of A.R.Rahman, but I cannot compare this movie's music with any of his other movies with stunning music.

3. Good that Indians got Oscar award because of this film.

4. Story is not a believable one.

I don;t know why this movie has garnered so much attention? The screenplay was elementary, performances particularly by the cast from the late half of the movie(Frieda Pinto, Mahesh Manjrekar etc) was average, the direction was not extraordinary, the music by AR Rahman was certainly not his best work. This pretty sums up why Slumdog Millionaire is just about an average movie that received great accolades cause the Oldies from the Academy Awards Jury paid attention to it. Also had the same movie been directed by an Indian it probably would not have been noticed at all..let alone win awards.

Coming to the main plot. I will give this much credit that the movie for the first 45-60 mins went on a riveting pace. The performances by the kids receive a special mention. However, as the story progresses it becomes increasingly unrealistic and disengaging. Also it projects India as filthy, slum driven, uncivilized rut. To which I will not completely disagree as the images of Bombay are fairly accurate. However, what is not shown is that India is a country of Billions. So if they are those who live in slums, there are also as many of those who can buy the Queen Of England if they wanted to. What this movie does in a way is reinforce the colonial image of India which is not correct.

For those who enjoyed this movie I would recommend Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay which is far more superior in terms of logic and reality.
On a final note I have nothing against AR Rahman winning an Oscar for this movie. I believe he's the most talented music director of our times and such a recognition was definitely due to him. However I would have been more proud if he received awards for his other works which were far superior than the music of Slumdog.

one of the pathetic movie as far as audience is concerned, critics concerned. It also make me feel ashamed as it is liked by westerns.I think they like to see India as a poor country.
